Dart Transit Company Company
(trucking) and several of its independent contractors assisted in
two inaugural events in Washington, DC during the 55th Presidential
Inauguration festivities.
Contractors Robert Gauntlett, Carlos Barroso, Billy Kinsel, Kenneth
Ott, Jose Hernandez and husband and wife team Terry and Wanda
Bartley picked up loads from Richard Flowers and the Events Company
in Houston, TX and delivered them in Washington, DC for two
events.
The first event was "Backstage" for the 100th Anniversary of
the Texas State Society. Attending were 2,500 society members who
organized, planned, and put on all of the Inaugural parties. The
second event was the “Black Tie and Boots Gala”, with
10,000 people attending. The assembled walls, stages, bars, and
decorations were delivered by Dart.
Joyce Jordan, Chief Operating Officer at Dart’s Dallas, Texas
operating center was in Washington, DC to attend several events
hosted by the Texas Motor Transportation Association. The main
event hosted by TMTA was an “invitation only” event for
the President’s Cabinet, Congressional Leaders, key Governors
around the country, Texas statewide office holders, and members of
the Texas Legislature. Over 2,000 people attended, with
entertainment provided by Toby Keith, ZZ Top, Clay Walker and Gary
P. Nunn. The “Texas Cocktail” event was a great success
and focused the spotlight on “Trucks Deliver
America”.
