VeriWise™ Locates, Recovers Stolen Trailer in One Hour

CANTON, MI, February 2, 2005 – The driver for AD Transport returned to a Jessup, MD truck stop at 5:00 a.m. on a recent Sunday morning to discover the trailer he dropped the previous evening had been stolen. After engaging the installed VeriWise™ system, AD Transport worked with Howard County police to confirm the new location of the trailer by 6:00 a.m. and the driver was back on his route the same day.

“We were leery about trailer tracking systems but the reputation of GE technology helped build our confidence in the VeriWise system and now the recent recovery of our stolen trailer using the VeriWise system showed us how essential the technology really is,” said Matthew Percy, vice president, AD Transport.

AD Transport provides 48-state truckload service utilizing a trailer fleet from GE of more than 1000 units for its total operations. The company has received VeriWise installation training from GE and is installing units into its entire trailer fleet at the rate of 50 units per month.
