Truckload Profitability Seminars Back By Industry Demand Seminar To Be Held In Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago

Alexandria, Virginia - The Truckload Carriers Association, in response to the industry's needs, is pleased to announce its 2004 spring series of the "Truckload Profitability Fundamentals Seminar" to be held in Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA, and Chicago, IL.  The truckload segment of the industry has always been a complex business model, plagued by high driver turnover.  Now with the hours of service issues, the time at the docks, and increase in 3rd party logistics, this problem has been exasperated.  It is imperative that truckload carriers know their costs and evaluate their rates properly.  This hands-on seminar will show trucking executives how to build a truckload Financial Statement that will serve as a foundation for benchmarking and improving profitability. It will also answer questions including: how do you determine profit centers; how do you allocate costs, revenues, people, miles, loads, etc.; how do you begin benchmarking and conducting comparison analysis to industry leaders; and how can you apply the truckload profitability fundamentals to your own company?

Decisiv, Inc. and Jack Porter, outside consultants, who also moderates TCA's Benchmarking 20-Groups, will moderate this seminar.  Mr. Porter will give participants examples of truckload industry averages and a better understanding of what key factors will show you if you are making a profit. Mr. Porter has been working for the past year and half with some of the industry's leaders within the TCA benchmarking program to develop these key factors.  Confronted with the industry challenges of higher profitability, TCA and Decisiv have developed a Uniform Financial Statement, a Financial Composite for Benchmarking, and a Best Practice's program for TCA members, this uniform truckload financial statement fits all carriers, whether you have ten trucks or in the thousands.

Clifton Parker, Chairman of TCA and President of G & P Trucking Co., Inc., explained, "I believe the sooner we begin a uniform financial measuring process we will begin strengthening our industry. 'Truckload Profitability Fundamentals Seminar' is the first step."  The Truckload Profitability Fundamentals Seminar will be held on March 30, 2004 in Dallas, April 8, 2004, in Atlanta, and June 15, 2004 in Chicago.  Those who want to gain a wo rking knowledge of the benefits of cost and revenue segmentation within the truckload industry should not miss this exciting and informative opportunity! Register by calling TCA at 703/838-1950 or visiting http://www.truckload.org and click on "Events" to download a registration form.

TCA is the only national trade association whose collective sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry.
