Tragedy struck Jeff and Charmaine Callerman’s home in Matthews, N.C. when an electrical fire caused the house to burn to the ground. The family was distraught and unsure how they would rebuild their lives.
Meanwhile, the PBS New Home Show was in the area doing good deeds for another family. The crew heard what happened to the Callermans and decided to help; plans were made to build the Callerman’s house, for free of course, and more grand than it was before. The show’s producers contacted Western Express and Hedrick Logistics to ask for help hauling materials for the new home. The companies agreed to offer their services for free without hesitation. Progress is being made and the house will be completed before late July, when the show is scheduled to air.
“This is a great opportunity for our company to help
someone who is in need and we are very excited to be able to offer
our services. Those of us at Western Express feel that this is what
it’s all about; we take great care to provide the most to our
drivers, employees and those who we are blessed to have the chance
to assist,” said Matt Neal, Western Express Director of
Recruiting.
