Tom Godfrey: Two Million Miles of Safe Driving

Birmingham, Alabama - Two million miles doesn’t come overnight; it takes time. Thirty-four years to be exact, at least for Tom Godfrey. Thirty-four years ago Tom’s father introduced him to driving, and he hasn’t looked back. Tom has been with CRST Malone for 20 years now. With the ability to come home every week, he has no complaints.

This owner operator makes a good living and states, “It’s better than working for a factory”. He enjoys the travel, as well. A hard worker throughout, Tom Godfrey does his job with pride. He’s gotten all the miles he has ever wanted and/or needed throughout his career. After time on the road, Tom enjoys returning home to his family. He has four grandchildren: Chad (17), Colton (11), Luke (5), and his newest addition Will (16 mos.). While at home, Tom partakes in daily activities such as tending to his yard, enjoying his ATV and, most importantly, watching his grandkids play ball.

After recently receiving the 2 Million Miles of Safe Driving award, Tom is ready to hit the road again. A man of pride, hard work and wisdom, he has these words to pass on to potential drivers: “Tell them Malone is a good company to work for, with pretty good loads and good money.” He also remembers his award for safety and comments, “For safety, you have to be careful and watch the other guys out there.”
