SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (May 4, 2005) – Prime Floral, LLC, a wholly
owned subsidiary of Prime, Inc. Trucking, is bracing for another
busy Mother’s Day in floral transports. Since 2004, Prime
Floral has been serving the transportation and logistics needs of
the entire floral industry using state of the art technology,
equipment and quality truck operators from Prime Inc.’s
growing fleet of more than 2800 trucks. Even before 2004, Prime
Inc. has served as one of the key transporters in the floral
market, especially during the two busiest floral holidays –
Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
As of May 2005, with nearly 24 employees dedicated solely to Prime Floral, the operation is responsible for moving more than 11 million flowers on an average week. During the busiest floral holidays, Valentine’s Day and Mothers Day, those flower shipments triple to excess of 33 million.
Brad Quinn, the senior manager responsible for Sales and Marketing Operations at Prime Floral, LLC, has played an integral role in establishing Prime Floral. Quinn recognized a need to accommodate the increasing demand for floral transportation across the country. In fact, this Mother’s Day, the top two transportation carriers in the floral industry, including Prime Floral, will handle 80 percent of the shipping out of California and 60 percent of the shipping out of Florida.
“Prime Floral is the natural brain child of Prime’s success as a floral industry transport carrier,” Quinn noted. “With the help of my associates, we simply took Prime Inc’s existing floral transportation business and breathed more life into it.”
In 2003, Quinn realized an opportunity to utilize Prime’s equipment and driver base to expand the seasonal floral transportation model to a year-round operation. Before Valentines Day 2004, Quinn worked with Robert Low, president and founder of Prime Inc., and two current Prime Floral associates to develop the business and marketing plan for what would become Prime Floral, LLC. Through their hard work, Prime Floral has become a successful source of revenue for Prime Inc.
“We are all extremely proud of our floral operations here at Prime Inc,” Low said. “Brad Quinn and his Prime Floral team have exceeded every expectation we ever had for this arm of our business operations.”
