Marten Transport, Ltd. Holds Induction Ceremony for Million Mile Drivers

Marten Transport continues its tradition of honoring excellent drivers. Recently the company inducted 38 new One Million Mile drivers and 45 Two Million Mile drivers into its Hall of Fame. These drivers have all achieved their million or more accident-free miles throughout their careers at Marten Transport Ltd. Although the company has had the One Million Mile Club for the past seven years, this was the first year for the Two Million Mile Club.
“Marten Transport firmly stands behind drivers and owner-operators and takes every opportunity to recognize the outstanding efforts and hard work they put forth,” said Randy Marten, President and C.E.O. “Most people don’t realize how hard it is to achieve so many accident-free miles. We are proud to have such amazing men and women driving for our company, and extremely happy to have this opportunity to celebrate with them.”

The following drivers were honored for achieving one million accident-free miles while driving for Marten: Robert Arroyo Jr., Roy Bressler, Charlie Burgess, Everett Carroll, Leona Dittman, David Guthmiller, Stephen Harris, Rick Hendon, Barry Hicks, Vern Jahsman, Edgar Jaillet, Larry Jernigan, Ann Kennedy, Ashley Kennedy, Robert Lambeth, Dennis Loon, Catherine Loucks, Jerry Lund, Clayton McClary, Laura Jean Michaels, Ricardo Miranda, Guy Noland, Cara Peters, Roosevelt Reese, Stephen Richardson, Tim Ridley, William Ring, Jerry Roberson, Kenny Roberts, Larry Rohrbacher, Jeffrey Schmidt, Steven Seaman, David Shelton, John Sloboda Jr., James Taylor, Disty Williams, Joseph Womack, and David Zecha.
These drivers know what it takes to be the best and drive for the best. “Marten does more for drivers than any other company,” said Rick Hendon, 16-year Marten Company Driver. “They’re the cream of the crop.”

Along with the million mile drivers, the company also inducted its first ever group of two million mile drivers. The fact that Marten has so many two million mile drivers is a testament to the company and the manner in which drivers are treated in the organization. “The company has always done what they said they would,” said Hanley Johnson, 18-year Company Driver. “I really appreciate the good management – Randy is great.”

Marten Transport is known for supporting drivers in good times and in bad. The company is an excellent backbone for drivers and their families. “ When my wife got cancer, Marten stood by us. I was able to be home every Friday for her chemo treatments,” said Phil Johnson, 17-year Company Driver. “They are truly a family company.”

All of the drivers were excited to receive their honors and happy to be recognized. Marten Transport began honoring such individuals back in1997. Since then, the company has inducted more than 300 drivers into the Marten Million Mile Club with some of the drivers having achieved the million-mile marker more than once in their careers.
