SMITH TRANSPORT PROMOTES, ADDS PERSONNEL

Smith Transport recently made the following personnel changes:
Don Davis joined Smith Transport in November of 2005 as Director of Driver Personnel. Don brings over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry and has been promoted to Vice President of Recruiting and Driver Development.

Don will be responsible for the expanded duties of the Recruiting, Orientation, Driver Relations departments and Driver education thru Smith Transport’s advanced CDL school and their partnerships with local Career and Technology Centers.

Dan Stroupe has joined Smith Transport to fill the role of Driver Relations Manager. Dan has 12 years of transportation experience in numerous positions including an accredited CDL trainer and vocational technical instructor. Dan’s primary responsibility will be to direct driver relations and retention and he will report to the Vice President of Recruiting and Driver Development.

Kevin Hite has been promoted from Director of Customer Service to Assistant Vice President of Customer Service. Kevin will continue to oversee the day to day operation of the Customer Service Department. Kevin will assist in the daily responsibilities of the operations department and will oversee the department in the absence of the V.P. Operations. Kevin has been with Smith Transport for over 10 years in various leadership roles. His diverse knowledge and experience will serve as an asset in his new role.
Eric Thomas is another recent addition to the management staff at Smith Transport as S.E. Fleet manager. Eric brings over 13 years of experience in the transportation industry. Eric is responsible for the Smith Transport terminal in Ellenwood Ga.
