Memphis, Tenn. – Builders Transportation Company, LLC, is currently experiencing strong company growth, and still has plenty of time to reach its goal for the year.
BTC has set a goal of 42 percent growth for 2006 and is well on track to reaching that goal. Recruiting director, Jerry Gowen says “at the start of the year, we set a goal of adding 100 company trucks and have already added 76 trucks seated with drivers. We’ve also added 33 single owner operators since the beginning of the year with a goal of 50”.
Gowen attributes this growth to expanding freight lanes from our existing customer base, the addition of new customers and the Driver Training Program. “We are not only receiving additional freight from our long term partners, but we have also added several new customers since the start of the year,” he says. “We have also been able to maintain the driver capacity needs to meet this growth. One of the major factors which has really supported the growth is our Driver Training Program”.
The growth has also had a very positive reception from the BTC drivers. “Overall the drivers have been pretty excited. In the past, we’ve had very few vacancies for short haul runs. This growth will provide us the ability to open more short haul lanes, which will in turn get the drivers home more often. We believe this is a positive for our current fleet of professional drivers as well as new drivers looking to come aboard,” Gowen says.
In addition to the growth in Memphis, BTC is planning to develop their Birmingham facility. Gowen says, “Part of this strategy is to develop it into the southeast center for driver recruiting, safety, maintenance, customer service and dispatch. It will basically mirror our Memphis facility only smaller.”
BTC has openings now for owner operators, recent graduates, or company drivers who are interested in high compensation with reliable home time. Call 800-238-6803 or visit www.btcflat.com for more information
