Marten Adds Intermodal Services, MacPherson Named Director

MONDOVI, Wis. -- Marten Transport is pleased to announce the addition of intermodal services to its ever growing corporate transportation family. Marten’s intermodal division will allow the company to provide expanded options and more effective transportation solutions for customers. The addition of logistics and intermodal services will support and enhance the company’s existing operations by providing greater flexibility
and efficiency.

To lead this latest venture, Marten has chosen Matt MacPherson as its new Director of Intermodal and Logistic Services. MacPherson, who has more then 22 years of experience in the transportation industry, will be responsible for generating Marten’s truck to rail transport opportunities, along with growing the company’s logistics and brokerage operations.

“We’re excited about the addition of intermodal,” said Marten’s Executive Vice President of Sales, Tim Nash. “And we’re confident Matt has the experience and knowledge it takes to make our intermodal and logistics service offerings not only a viable, but an attractive solution for our customers.”

Prior to joining Marten Transport Ltd., MacPherson was the Senior Manager of Supply Chain Logistics at McCain Foods USA. His transportation industry experience also includes time as Manager of Rail and Intermodal Operations at Mars, Inc. (now Master Foods), Director of Automotive Services for BNSF (Burlington- Northern-Sante Fe) railroad, and sales and marketing management at Conrail.

“Marten Transport has an excellent track record,” MacPherson said. “My expectation is to draw on that success, experience and dynamic leadership to build its intermodal offering.”

MacPherson, is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston. He has also attended the business to business marketing program at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University and studied logistics at the University of Tennessee.
