After Service in the Military, Drivers are Proud to be Driving for Keller

Defiance, Ohio --- As the nation constantly remembers those serving in the armed forces, Keller Trucking, Inc. proudly recognizes its drivers who have spent time in the military prior to taking their careers on the road.

Joe Schreiber, who served in the Army from 1983-86, feels he was well prepared for a career in driving after his time in the military. Having done a great deal of driving in the Army, he says, “This was something I’ve always wanted to do and it was nice to get a little experience that I could fall back on. I learned a lot about vehicle operations and ways to do service in the field.”
Shawn Pinkston, who also served in the Army for more than seven years doing demolition work, also gained some experience in truck driving. “Well, I couldn’t legally do here what I did in the army, but truck driving serves me well and I gained some experience while in the Army.”

Both agree that Keller is a great company to drive for. Pinkston says, “I have no complaints about Keller. A friend of mine referred me to Keller and they have treated me pretty well. I like that I get home once a week and every weekend, which allows me to spend time with my family.”

Schreiber, who has driven for Keller for five years, adds, “They treat you pretty fairly here at Keller. I haven’t been turned down yet for any requests like time off and such. I used to work in a factory and Keller could offer me everything the factory could, except I would be doing something I actually enjoy.”

Recruiter Jason Frederick says, “We have a pretty good representation of all the military branches here at Keller, and we are extremely proud for all they have done and still do for this country. Across the board, we have an incredibly respectful and reliable fleet of drivers, and our former service members are certainly no exception.” One of Keller’s mechanics, Evan Miller, was recently called to duty and is now serving in Iraq. “Our hearts and prayers are with him as well,” Frederick adds.
