Driver Appreciation Week held at Smithway Motor Xpress

(Fort Dodge, IA) September 13, 2005 - Smithway Motor Xpress (SMX) held its Driver Appreciation Week August 22 - 26, welcoming drivers for food, prizes and a personal introduction to Next American Superstar contestant Allison Parson.

"We had a week-long cookout with our famous big hamburgers with all the fixings, bratwurst, baked beans, salad -- just lots of goodies to eat and drink," says Junelle Hauth of SMX. "The real treat was spending some time with Allison, our Next American Superstar contestant. She spent most of the day with us on the 26th signing CDs and buttons, visiting with drivers and touring our facility. It was very nice."

In addition to handing out Allison's CDs, SMX held drawings for gift certificates and merchandise to give to the drivers.

"We really look forward to this time of year when we stop and say thanks to our drivers," says Hauth. "These professionals do such an amazing job and we want them to know that we don't take them for granted."
