J&R Schugel has recently added new options
to its home time schedule to better meet drivers needs on the road
and on the home front.
“It’s very important to us to build
relationships,” says Gary Hess of
J&R Schugel. “That’s why we’re
continually improving our programs to meet our drivers’
needs.”
The new program, called the 5 & 2, allows drivers two days
at home after five days on the road. “We started the program
in late summer and have gotten a very positive response,”
says Kacey Trout,
J&R Schugel processor and recruiter. “The program is
available for reefer and dry
van company
drivers.”
The company also has a two to three day home time option for longer
haul drivers and owner operators who are
out 10-14 days.
In addition to its new home time, J&R Schugel offers weekly settlements, direct deposit, air ride equipment, paid TripPak, and more. Their well-maintained late model equipment and excellent scheduled maintenance programs keep drivers on the road and out of the shop.
“Many carriers can offer some of the same benefits we do, but very few care the way we do about making a good match with drivers,” says Hess. “We want safe, professional drivers and owner operators who have the same values that we do and want a long term, friendly partnership with their carrier.”
J&R Schugel is a truckload carrier of general commodities headquartered in New Ulm, MN. The company owns 500 power units and approximately 850 trailers servicing the 48 continental U.S. States.
