Sioux
Falls, S.D. –– Bob Syfert, a Portland, Oregon native,
was recently honored for 3 million safe miles with Midwest Coast
Transport. Syfert is an independent contractor and has been driving
with MCT since 1981 when he entered their training school. He
recently purchased his 5th Mack truck during his 24th year at the
company. Syfert attributes this tremendous accomplishment to
staying focused all the time. He said, “Do not let yourself
get bored or complacent while driving, and know your limits. This
will help you avoid fatigue.”
Syfert came to the trucking industry to get away from the 8 to 5 jobs, to travel and to work for himself. To be a good professional truck driver, Syfert said, “You have to be self motivated and an ambassador for the company you represent, yourself and trucking.” He takes his job seriously and has earned the respect of everyone who works with him. Syfert now calls Sioux Falls home and in his off time he enjoys spending time with his fiancée Kathleen Smith and his daughter Vanessa.
According to MCT President Matt Staniszewski, “I really cannot find the proper words to thank him for his efforts over his 24 plus year span. This is a remarkable accomplishment and truly defines the meaning of professional.”
MCT is proud to have Syfert on their team. Midwest Coast Transport, part of Comcar Industries, is based in Sioux Falls, S.D.
